denim denim denim

I used to think denim on denim was such a horrible faux pas but now I feel like it's kind of a hip thing to do as long as you know what you're doing and are brave enough to pull it off. Personally, I don't feel ready to rock the denim suit just yet, but mixing up colors and textures is a fun and subtle way to get it done. I bought these colored jeans from Zara a couple of weeks ago (along with these pumps which have become another fast favorite) and have found myself reaching for them over and over ever since...why does this gosh dang color pair so well with everything right now? Whatever you want to call it--burgundy, oxblood, wine, bordeaux, maroon, aubergine--I have to say, I think Pantone missed the mark a little when they named tangerine tango the color of 2012. Although "burgundy" has been a fall staple for a couple of seasons now, it's absolutely inescapable this season, and I almost find myself hating how much I love it!
