Autumnal Tones
When I was a kid, I remember it being pretty chilly by the time Halloween rolled around. My mom always made me wear a long-sleeved shirt and tights under my Halloween costumes while I went trick-or-treating, much to my dismay! The past few years however, have been a different story. Whenever I've taken my nephews and niece trick-or-treating, I distinctly recall being bare-legged and yet still working up a sweat. If that's not evidence of climate change, I don't know what is. Currently, LA is experiencing yet another heat wave. They are simply a way of life here, so as a style blogger I have to figure out other ways to give a nod to "fall." Dressing in various warm brown tones is a surefire way to get the job done. Almost everything here is from Free People.
Lace-up denim skirt, Free People (currently on sale with all sizes in stock!) Long-sleeved cami, Free People (similar here. Fringed slides, Sol Sana via Free People (sold out). Suede bucket bag, Violeta by Mango (sold out).

That skirt is so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteIts way to cold here to not be layered up for trick-or-treating, 3 layers minimum, hope you have fun with your nieces and nephews!

That top is so pretty and you do a great job at giving a nod to the fall season, while still being dressed appropriately for LA's warm weather. That brown top is so, so pretty! I really hope that the weather starts to cool down for you just a bit, though!

It’s crazy how you can mark things by what you remember as a child. I love hot weather but climate change is such a serious issue. I do love your outfit though. The skirt is so awesome, I love the plaits on it!
