Holiday Shine

I'm absolutely loving the cold (by our standards) weather we've been having in Southern California lately, but wearing jeans and a sweater can get old pretty fast. A dress with tights is always a fun alternative, especially around the holidays, which is what I was thinking on this particular day. Since I was feeling festive, I decided to wear my sparkly tights from Pretty Polly and a sparkly purse too! I topped off the look with a warm fuzzy teddy bear coat from Old Navy, easily one of my favorite items from their winter range.

Working from home means I spend a good chunk of my life lounging around in sweatpants, but never until now had I let them see the light of day. However, it's become so trendy to wear "fancy sweatpants" every where in recent years, that I found myself gravitating towards this pair of joggers from Old Navy and thought I'd give the trend a try. I went for a petite size (which they only carry online) since an ankle-grazing length always looks a bit more polished, in my opinion. And since the pants were so comfortable, I decided to go all out with other comfortable pieces as well: a fleece-lined puffer vest and high-top sneakers (I could never get on board with the whole sweatpants with heels thing). And then added some touches of fair-isle print to keep the look cute.
What do you think about wearing sweatpants outside of the home? My boyfriend and all of his friends do it, but I haven't seen too many girls rocking them despite always seeing them in stores. Have you done it/would you?

It's always pretty fun styling a head-to-toe look in a single brand. Especially with a brand like Old Navy which carries such a diverse range of styles. They always have a solid selection of basics and then a few more trendy items each season. This fall, they seem to be promoting ponchos. I'm loving gridded prints lately so this one was right up my alley. Surprisingly it had a bit of heft to it (it is a wool-blend after all) and kept me warmer than I expected considering the airy armholes. It's definitely apropos to the season, especially in places with more of a chill to the air than here.
I was pretty excited when I spotted this jumpsuit in store to style it with. Last one left and in my size! Since it gave off some safari vibes I thought I'd roll with it and added a forest-green hat. I've always wanted a hat in this color, so stumbling upon this gem felt like kismet, and the color is so beautiful for fall.
