Long Cardigans Forever

Being in LA, there is rarely, if ever, a need for a coat, but a cozy longline cardigan often suits our winters perfectly. Since I wear the ones that I have so much, I'm always on the lookout to buy more! This one was a Black Friday steal I found at ASOS, and I love how it's a bit more lightweight so I can wear it even when it's not really chilly. A pair of mom jeans, a nice top, and a long cardigan are pretty much my uniform whenever the weather drops below 65 degrees (which unfortunately is not as frequently as I would like).
Speaking of nice tops, one of my favorite recent brand discoveries is Sézane. I'm trying to reduce the money I waste on trendy pieces that I'm over by next season, so when I want to buy something, I try to ask myself if I can see myself still wearing that piece in a few years. With Sézane the answer is always yes! They do a really good job of encapsulating that laidback yet sophisticated French vibe.

A Touch of Color

In today's look, I'm wearing my favorite black jeans, favorite white blouse, favorite ankle boots (at the moment), and favorite moto jacket! You can't go wrong with an outfit built of great basics, but as chic as black and white are as a color combination, I don't feel like quite myself without a bit of color. Normally my M.O would be to throw on a colored bag, but I've been loving my Céline mini belt bag way too much lately. Ironically, black looks so good with nearly every color, but, in my opinion, looks a bit dull when paired with itself. Adding an element with a great print always works to liven things up quickly. I added a floral touch to my outfit by using a poncho/shawl thing that I got from Urban Outfitters as a scarf. A scarf is perfect for the weather lately, but when it's too hot, a small colorful accessory such as a bag charm or a scarf tied to the bag can work wonders too.

The Wear-Anywhere Dress

I justified the purchase of this dress by telling myself it had true versatility as well as timelessness. It's something I would probably pack for traveling since it would look great with both sneakers or heels and work for a variety of different events and occasions. Reformation does these classic yet fresh dresses very well. I fell hard for the A-line silhouette, the skirt with just the right amount of flounce, and the cheeky yet subtle cutouts at the shoulders.
Speaking of things I've fallen hard for, if you caught my recent posts or follow me on Instagram, you may have noticed that I have been all about my Céline mini belt bag recently! After initially feeling a bit guilty about the purchase (it being the most expensive bag I have ever purchased for myself, I couldn't help but think about how the money is probably more than three months worth of food!) However, I find myself reaching for it constantly; it seems to complement almost all of my outfits, and unlike some of my other purses, the size actually suits my needs! I also don't have to baby it since the drummed calfskin is not so delicate. I'm not the greatest at taking care of my things, so I absolutely hate it when expensive leathers get scratched easily. All in all, I'm already thinking this bag is becoming quite affordable in terms of cost per wear.
