Off Duty Vibes

When I'm running errands during the week, my Nike Air Max Theas are my shoe of choice, and this is more or less my weekday uniform (although in the interest of full disclosure I will admit that I am usually wearing leggings instead of pants). The athleisure trend is not going quite as strong as before, but I consider it to be more of a lifestyle thing than a trend--I don't think I will ever give up the comfort, simplicity, and ease! I've written before about how much I love my Air Max Thea, but I've had them for quite some time now and still love them as much as ever. I've never used them to work out in, but they are by far and away my most comfortable walking shoes. Plus, I love how they make my feet look so narrow (my Nike Frees make my feet look super wide), and give me a little height boost!

Morning Suede Moto Jacket, BLANKNYC (this color is out of stock but Nordstrom still has a selection of other colors available and I love this shade). Oversized knit sweater, H&M (available in other colors as well). Black stretch jeans, Gap. Faye small shoulder bag in Intense Green, Chloe (found it on sale!) Bag pom-pom accessory, Topshop.

Heatwave Wear

Even though we're into well October now, LA is still experiencing the occasional heatwave. I talk about this often, but global warming is very real, despite what certain politicians may say (Donald Trump may or may not believe that it's a hoax invented by the Chinese). Hot days are the worst time to be a style blogger, because I'd much rather be sitting comfortably in an air-conditioned room than taking pictures outside in the sweltering heat (and I'm sure my beau-tographer really dreads it too although he's too supportive to ever say anything!) I'd love to be shooting fall outfits featuring boots and layers right now but unfortunately it's not always very realistic. When temperatures hit a certain threshold, I really don't want to put much thought into my outfit, hence the simple t-shirt and denim skirt combo for today's look. It was too hot to even deal with my hair and I went extra comfy with my choice of footwear, with my trusty Nike Air Max Thea. I do own quite a few pairs of Nikes but these are my most comfortable and therefore favorite. Comfy feet are happy feet and athleisure is still pretty cool in my book.

Linen tee, H&M. Denim mini skirt, Topshop. Air Max Thea, Nike. Mini belt bag, Céline.

Fresh Kicks: Nike Air Max Thea

I have a few pairs of Nike gym shoes but wanted a pair I could dedicate exclusively to casual-wear. Like the Roshe and the Juvenate, the Air Max Thea is a technically a "lifestyle" shoe (despite resembling running shoes, they are in fact casual sneakers). I had previously purchased a pair of black Nike Frees hoping they would be able to double as casual shoes, but found them to be a bit too clunky and wide (I have the 2013 5.0 style). I love how the Air Max Thea has a narrower profile and a thick sole with the signature pocket of air--height-boosting and super comfortable! Very happy with this purchase and looking forward to wearing them while running errands or traveling or any other time I just want my feet to be super comfy.

Air Max Thea, Nike. Grey muscle tee, Babakul. Coated Florence Instasculpt jeans, DL1961 (similar here and here). Western-tipped leather belt, Urban Outfitters. Two-toned bouclé cardigan, Zara. Jet set multifunction tote bag, Michael by Michael Kors. Grey scarf, H&M (on sale!)

Notes about the Air Max Thea:
This style is known to run small, but I ended up getting my usual size for Nikes which is a full size bigger than my normal size. I like a roomier fit for sneakers/athletic shoes so that I can slip my feet in and out easily without having to redo the laces. A lot of reviewers have complained about these shoes hurting their feet, but so far I haven't experienced any discomfort. The back of the shoe is pretty stiff (which I really like actually) and I could see how it could potentially be uncomfortable if the shoe didn't fit right, but I think that is likely more of a fit issue.
